School Guided Visits

GUIDED VISITS FOR THE PUPILS OF YOUR CLASSES

What better way of inspiring your pupils than to guide them around the actual sites where history was made… The Meuse – plus the Ardennes and the rest of Lorraine – offer an exciting selection of places to visit, dealing with the drama of the three major conflicts which took place here between 1870 and 1945.

We need to bring history to life, to raise it above a plain list of dates, a recital of the various battles and treaties, and concentrate on the human aspects.

As in all of history, it is the personal stories, the individuals who made a difference, which are so important to our narrative, heroes such as Driant, Maginot, De Gaulle, Pétain, Darlan, Sergeant York, Eddie Rickenbacker, Patton and a host of lesser known participants…

My aim is to help you enrich your subject, and give your pupils an inspiring experience.

Normally they will last for a half day, depending on the theme you wish to pursue, either in the morning or the afternoon.

I am flexible as to the subject matter you wish to discuss and illustrate. Contact me, and I will send you a personalised schedule and pricing.
